This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Corporate IT Operations functions, ensuring service levels meet performance standards and satisfaction of corporate cybersecurity requirements. Such responsibility requires exercise of supervisory and management tasks, and this position reports to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This position will be required to ensure services are delivered within the prescribed budget, schedule, and quality constraints set by the CTO, as specified in corporate policies and process standards, and in compliance with Federal contractor and other standards. This position interfaces with a variety of employees at different levels, requiring leadership and communication skills.

 

This individual will maintain, develop, and/or oversee the on-premise IT infrastructure and cloud infrastructure services (e.g. IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) as well as the processes governing their usage. Development and implementation of new services, new processes, and systems will be required to mature and improve the efficient delivery of IT services in support of our customer-facing and internal employees and staff.

 

From time to time, this individual will execute special IT projects to improve/expand services offered, increase operational efficiency, and otherwise continuously improve the IT department’s functions. Such projects will rely on the individual’s existing technical and professional expertise as much as they will rely on the individual learning new technologies and integrating them into the IT operational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain corporate IT services and networks within service level agreements
  • Measure and report service level performance, including standard IT reporting metrics, using a dashboard or easily consumed format for management-level reporting
  • Securely maintain and deliver IT services, including the network, cloud services, desktop/laptop infrastructure, and corporate applications offered by the Department
  • Implement and maintain the corporate System Security Plan, enact required cybersecurity processes in compliance with Federal requirements and other standards (e.g. DFARS 252.204-7102, FAR 52.204-21, NIST 800-171)
  • Execute complex IT projects and tasks such as implementing and integrating corporate-level workflow and productivity applications, endpoint security, IT asset management systems, and others
  • Improve efficiency and implement continuous improvements
  • Coordinate with other employees, departments and the CTO to effectively execute joint projects and improve business flows
  • Implement and document policies, procedures, and standards
  • Train, mentor and motivate IT staff, interns and others to support the above
  • Travel as required to multiple BE locations within the DC metropolitan region to support IT operations

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with major or minor in computer technology or similar discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an information technology position. Candidates without any degree must be able to demonstrate an IT foundation acquired via other means such as an Associate's Degree or certificates plus 5 years of applicable experience.

  • Ability to successfully complete the BE Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education and Employment; additionally, your ability to successfully complete a Credit and/or Driving Records Checks may be conducted if required by the contract for continued employment. 
  • Ability to travel locally to different BE offices.
  • Variety of IT skills to operate and maintain our corporate IT operations, including: (1) software such as Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and desktop operating systems; (2) hardware/infrastructure such as laptops and cloud-based services; and (3) networking (e.g. switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networking, telecommunications/VOIP equipment).
  • Ability to evaluate, recommend, and/or operationalize new or improved IT services, equipment and processes
  • Must have demonstrated capability for oral and written communication with all levels of company and customer management.
  • Analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Active listening and great communication skills
Preferred:
  • Experience with implementing IT infrastructures that take advantage of cloud services and blend with established best practices
  • Experience with cybersecurity standards, ISO 20000, 27000, CMMI and other standards applied to delivering IT services
