Designs and constructs web/application  pages/sites including incorporating graphic user interface (GUI) features and other techniques. Maintains and provides ongoing design of the applications/websites, pand  content specialities neded for our DOS Government Client

Job Knowledge:  Seasoned professional in the job family. This is the level of full competence that all professionals are expected to achieve in the function.   

The UI/UX Developer will be the Subject Matter Expert on all aspects of usability for a frequently visited applications, websites, and Portal Page, Developing and implement integration strategies for audience engagement through DOS HR Portals and other access points for DOS HR/EX Applications Ensuring applications are accessible for all DOS stakeholders is a key component of the duties involved with this job.  508 compliance will be a key success factor in performing in this position.

.  Applicants should have a strong background in UI/UX tools such as, JavaScript, and CSS.

 

Problem Solving/Complexity: Assignments are typically broad in nature, requiring discretion and ingenuity. Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem-solving skills to resolve complex situations. Typically confers with managers or superiors on unusually complex matters.
Supervision Received/Independent Judgement:  Operates with considerable latitude performing work with instruction limited to results expected.  

 

Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors:

  • Develop a clean interface with clear workflows through wireframes and UI/.UX tools  theme development
  • Integrate custom APIs based on the DOS HR/EX Style guide where possible
  • Design and develop applications with layouts and color schemes to ensure a positive user experience with HR/EX applications.
  • Translate customer specifications into a working application
  • Ensure all applications are designed to be usable by all HR/EX stakeholders.
  • Design and develop applications that are fully 508 compliant.
  • Provide expertise with respect to Application usability
  • Work well as part of a development team

Qualifications

 

Required skills and experience include:

  • 4+ years’ experience, Web Development
  • 2+ years’ experience, UI/UX teams
  • 2+ years’ experience, HTML, CSS
  • 2+ years’ experience, Understanding of UI design principles of good usability
  • 2+ years’ experience, Working experience of JavaScript with and without JQuery
  • 2+ years’ experience, Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues
  • 2+ years’ experience, Knowledge of 508 compliance based development and testing

Preferred Skills:

  •       Background in Graphic and or/ Web page Design
