This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is developing applications that span multiple clients/projects.  The candidate will be knowledgeable about the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)/Application Development Life-Cycle, have had experience with the project planning, scheduling, requirements gathering, meeting facilitation and other project management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior developers and business unit to develop formal requirements, project planning, system design, and technical documentation
  • Assist Project Manager with weekly reports, project log, tracking of milestones, updates to project schedules and other project management tasks
  • Develop meeting agendas and facilitate meetings
  • Prepare status and project reports for internal and external audiences
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple work requests
  • Organize self and perform duties on-time and in a detail-oriented fashion
  • Elicit requirements through stakeholder facilitation sessions; requirements workshops; Use Case analysis and document analysis
  • Translate business strategies, customer expectations, and requirements into detailed narratives, specifications, flowcharts, business and process flows
  • Conduct business process analysis and re-engineer the process through the life of the project
  • Assist with defining risks, assumptions, and uncertainties as part of an overall risk assessment for new and existing systems
  • Demonstrate developing application to internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate, represent , guide and provide critical analysis expertise to the group and lead group discussions and collaborative effort to define and develop user-requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Information Systems or related field)
  • 3+ years experience with working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess a strong work ethic
  • Must be flexible, independent and self-motivated
  • Strong analytic mind and well organized
  • Experience composing reports and presentations for senior leadership
  • 3+ years' using Microsoft Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  • 3+ years' Requirements Gathering and Management
  • Experience creating training and marketing materials
  • Defining configuration specifications and business analysis requirements
  • Performing Quality Assurance (QA) testing
  • Experience navigating through difficult IT governance processes
  • Self-starter with initiative and aptitude to quickly learn and put new skills to use
  • Ability to set personal and team goals and execute a plan
  • Keen understanding of systems, processes, and tools
  • 5 years' experience with software documentation requirements for technology projects, including system design specification document, requirements traceability matrix, and use case diagrams
  • 5 years' experience with creating and supporting design documentation
  • 5 years' experience facilitating customer meetings
  • Working in a team atmosphere as well as individually
  • Experience working onsite for the Federal Government

 Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Experience working with the Department of State
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technologies
  • Business Development experience (e.g., responding to RFI’s, past performance requests)
  • Able to manage shifting priorities
  • Experience with problem resolution and solution design/development skills
  • Ability to take the lead on projects and work in a complex diversified application development environment.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff
