The Buchanan & Edwards Summer Internship Program hires qualified students for a 10-12 week paid internship, where you will learn new skills, explore our enterprise, network with experts, connect with thought leaders, and finish with a resume that will result in future opportunities. As an intern at BE you’ll also gain something even more valuable: an understanding for the value of teamwork and collaboration and pride in your contributions to high-visibility projects.

BE is looking for skilled and dedicated Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) summer interns interested in working on various internal and external BE projects. Opportunities include software engineering, big data analytics, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and various cybersecurity solutions applied to problems in corporate and government settings.

 

Efforts will result in working proof-of-concepts demonstrated at various checkpoints as well as an end-of-summer showcase. This intern work at BE will give you solid resume-building experience.

Responsibilities

  • A desire and dedication for self-study and research.
  • The ability to work with others in a team and mentor-based environment.
  • The ability to grasp complex concept and present them to an executive group.
  • Timeliness and attendance based on the agreed schedule

Qualifications

  • 1 year of programming experience in a programming language, web or server side
  • At least one year of a bachelor of science degree, Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 1 year of experience with common development tools (ex. Sublime, Git, GitHub)
  • Experience working with others in collaborative team setting

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Atom, or Sublime
  • 1 year of experience with HTML5/CSS (CSS frameworks are a plus)
  • 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS or Azure)
  • 1 year of experience with data analytics or big data analysis (programming and visualization)
