The mission of CBP within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is to secure the nation’s borders to protect against the entry of dangerous people and goods and unlawful trade and travel, and to ensure the efficient flow of legitimate trade and travel across United States borders. CBP’s Enterprise Services (ES), Office of Information and Technology (OIT) provides information, services, and technology solutions that enable CBP to prevent the entry of terrorists or terrorist weapons into the United States, facilitate legitimate trade and travel, and secure the United States borders. OIT provides DHS and CBP with a 24/7/365 secure, stable, and high-performance information and technology infrastructure, scientific solutions, and forensic services. OT consolidates the trade policy, program development, and compliance measurement functions of CBP into one office.
The U.S. Government is facing the most complex national security threat environment in its history. More than ever, our adversaries are sustained by interconnected networks intent on destroying or exploiting American interests. The evolution of these threats demands a well-informed, highly agile, and integrated community of partners and stakeholders to inform and enhance operational activities. As stated in the recent President Executive Order (EO) issued January 27, 2017, “it is the policy of the United States to protect its citizens from foreign nationals who intend to commit terrorist attacks in the United States; and to prevent the admission of foreign nationals who intend to exploit United States immigration laws for malevolent purposes.” The recent EO and Administration priorities, means that CBP will face increased pressure to deliver solutions to enhance our borders security posture.

May set or plan goals within area. Directly participates in corporate strategic planning. Responsible for implementing corporate strategic initiatives.

Applies knowledge of financial metrics to meet goals and make effective decisions. Provides strategic direction to lower level managers/supervisors.
