    The Foreign Affairs Business Unit at Buchanan & Edwards is a trusted advisor to our government customer whom we have proudly served for over a decade.

     

    Our team is looking to welcome a new Cloud/Network Security Engineer team member. The Cloud/Network Security Engineer will be responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. This includes the implementation and design of hardware and software and monitoring the performance of systems.

     

    The Successful Candidate will work within a team to design, develop, deploy and operate security technologies and solve challenges around events, alerts, monitoring, intrusion detection, vulnerability detection and tracking, file integrity monitoring and other similar technologies and challenges at cloud scale. The Cloud/Network Security Engineer will determine optimal ways to identify security risks and incidents and suggest improvements and create automation as needed to detect and mitigate those risks.

    Responsibilities

     

    Primary Responsibilities Include:

    • Identify ideal ways to monitor and automate the security on/in multiple production environments to achieve available, reliable, stable, consistency and most importantly secure services that we offer to our customers.
    • Analyze problems and engineer solutions that are reproducible and capable of transferable to other teams.
    • Operate and improve custom scripts and create new processes to support growing demand in the big data space securely.
    • Support Incident Response and suggest improvements and changes to same as needed.
    • Identify improvements to and write scripts, as needed, to automate security technologies to improve our ability to implement in cloud based infrastructure (new environments, redeployments, updates and upgrades).
    • Research, document and solve complex security problems. These could include developing an encryption key management (PKI using reputable public sources), testing and deploying DLP, Creating a API automation, etc.,

     

     

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Active Secret level clearance
    • 3+ years Systems/Network Engineer experience
    • 3+ years’ experience with infrastructure automation tools such as PowerShell, Chef, Terraform or others.
    • 3+ years’ experience with deploying ESXi, VMWare and Hyper-V tools or VMWare Update Manager.
    • Experience with Hyper-V technologies WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) SCCM 2007-2012.
    • Experience with Data Sharing, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Disaster Recovery preparation, and integration of these capabilities with Cloud Computing and Cyber architectures. 

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    • 1+ years, experience in source control (such as Git, Bitbucket, etc.), Continuous Integration (Jenkens, Bamboo, VSTS), Infrastructure Automation (Puppet, Chef, Ansible), Container Concepts (LXD, Docker), Orchestration (Kubernetes, Mesos, Swarm) and Cloud (AWS, Azure, GoogleCloud, Openstack)
    • 1+ years, scripting & automation experience; proficient in the use of VB Script, Power Shell or Perl scripting
