The Network Engineer will be part of a team that supports the Enterprise Department of State SharePoint Services program for our client, The Department of State Enterprise Collaboration Services Branch. In this role you will perform tasks associated with application networking ports and protocols, Information Assurance (IA), routing and Local Area Network (LAN). The Network Engineer will also assist in the development and engineering of network infrastructure; use knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks; test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
Critical experience for this role includes: Knowledge of DNS, TCP, Sites & Services, Users and Computers; understanding different FSMO roles; experience with Hyper-V tecExperience with deploying ESXi, VMWare and Hyper-V tools and VMWare Update Managerhnologies WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) SCCM 2007-2012; Data Sharing, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Disaster Recovery preparation, and integration of these capabilities with Cloud Computing and Cyber architecture.
The Network Engineer will manage and maintain Active Directory Domain Services and provide desktop Engineering support to include customer interaction, working remedy tickets and troubleshooting Windows OS's such as Windows 7,8,10. Windows Server 2008-2012 R2.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Network Engineering, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
