    Responsibilities

    The MCRISS Database Administrator plays a significant role as a member of our team on this critical Marine Corps project which supports over 4,000 active Marine Corps recruiters.  The Mid-Level DBA will work on our Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) Task Order for which Buchanan & Edwards is managing and maintaining the fielded version of MCRISS.  We’re looking for a skilled Database Administrator who can help us manage the MCRISS databases as a member of our Database team.    

     

    Job Knowledge:  Exhibits technical and operational proficiency in the primary duties of the job family. Performs work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult in nature.  
    Leadership/Direction of Others: Acts as a resource to managers and employees in the organization.  May provide general guidance and training to lower level employees.  Plays a key role in implementing projects and programs in the function.
    Problem Solving/Complexity:  Typically relies on direction from manager or supervisor for complex issues.  Identifies and clarifies/defines problems and possible solutions independently; chooses among existing solutions to resolve.
    Supervision Received/Independent Judgement:  Works under general supervision or broad instruction. Typically involves periodic review of work product by supervisor or direct "customer" of the process. 

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA in a Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
    • Work experience may be substituted in place of a degree and will be decided on a case by case basis.
    • MS SQL Server Database certification (any version or level 2008 or higher) is required
    • Security+ CE certification is required
    • 4+ years of SQL DBA experience focused around managing and maintaining systems and services for fielded systems with a broad and diverse user base
    • 4+ years of experience using SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, (Focusing on SQL 2016) and SQL Reporting Services
    • 4+ years of experience using Reports Designer and Business Intelligence Tools
    • 4+ years troubleshooting SQL Server performance issues
    • 4+ years of experience working as a member of a team on software or engineering-related projects
    • 1+ years of experience working within an Agile software development process
    • Experience with software analysis tools both native and third party (Profiler, Extended Events, Idera, Dell Spotlight etc.) for requirements-driven products
    • MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
    • Documentation/technical writing experience 4+ years
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Outstanding team collaboration skills
    • Secret security clearance is highly desired to expedite onboarding and client requirements
    • Public Trust (IT Level III) is required in lieu of a Secret security clearance
