  • Overview

    The Principal Systems Engineer III (VMWare) shall be responsible for design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, addressing interoperability issues of all VMware components to include the hypervisor, vSphere, NSX, vRealize Suite, and Site Recovery Manager.

    • Design, implementation and ongoing support of the on premise cloud Infrastructure.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for all VMware environments and products.
    • Create and maintain an on premise cloud and software defined data center infrastructure with appropriate SAN, network, and local storage configurations.
    • Write and maintain scripts to automate server provisioning and configuration.
    • Evaluate, maintain, and improve virtualized infrastructure security.
    • Monitor and correct hardware, storage, performance issues, and create recovery processes.
    • Install, configure, test and maintain infrastructure and system management tools, and proactively ensure high availability.
    • Monitor and test application performance, identify bottlenecks, solutions, and work with developers to implement fixes.
    • Create and maintain backup and redundancy strategies.
    • Design information and operational support systems.
    • Provide 4th level support.
    • Liaise with vendors and IT personnel on problem resolution.
    • Ensure technical documentation is kept up to date including systems inventory, patch levels, hostnames, property numbers, IP addresses, enclave, cores, processors, admin passwords, certificates, and service accounts monthly.
    • Engineer and multi factor authentication implement solutions with FBI standardized software and hardware.
    • Continually transition knowledge and train staff
    • Provide real-time performance and availability metrics, and analyze trends.


    Desired Qualifications

    • VMware Data Center Virtualization and Cloud Management and Automation certification
    • 6 years’ experience
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred
