    Buchanan & Edwards is seeking a talented Help Desk Specialist to support a mission critical program at the Foreign Service Institute, in Washington D.C.




    • Respond to and diagnoses problems through discussion with users.
    • Ensure a timely process through which problems are controlled. Includes problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps.
    • Provide support to end users on a variety of issues related to applications and web applications.
    • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
    • Respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support.
    • Document, track, and monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
    • Provide second-tier support to end users for applications, web applications.
    • Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identi- fy and correct core problem.
    • Simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
    • Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.


    The minimum experience and education requirements for this position reflect industry standards. This position will be instrumental in providing customer support and routing level 2 support to the appropriate POC.

    • AS degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or related IT discipline. Allowable Substitution: Additional 5 (five) years of related professional experience can be substituted for an AS Minimum Experience Required
    • A minimum of 5 (five) years of professional experience in customer support is desired.
    • A minimum of 2 years of relevant/relatable professional experience.
